Manager:

Greene Valley Recreation Club in Beavercreek, Ohio, seeks candidates for the position of Pool Manager. Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Pool Manager is responsible for hiring, scheduling and supervising lead guards and lifeguards, and managing the daily operations and maintenance of the swim club and snack bar. This Pool Manager should have excellent organizational, communication, and public relation skills.

 

The position is hourly, and starts part-time with flexible hours on May 1, 2025. The position becomes full time, with an expectation of 30-40 hours per week on May 25th through September 1st, 2025. Limited part time availability will be needed through October 31st, 2025.

Qualified candidates must have:

  • Proof of Current First Aid, and CPR certification or a commitment to becoming certified by May 1, 2025.

  • Availability for evening, weekend and holiday work. 

  • The ability to move, lift, carry or push heavy items weighing 50 pounds or more.

  • A valid OH driver’s license and proof of auto insurance.

Preferred applicants should have:

  • Significant knowledge and experience in swimming pool or recreation center management and operations.

  • 3-5 years of general management or supervision experience, especially in a swimming pool, recreation center or retail environment.

  • Proof of current Lifeguard, Aquatic Instructor and Lifeguard Management certification.

  • 21 years or older

*This position is full for the 2025 season

 

Lead Guards: 

 

Qualified candidates must have:

  • Current lifeguard or a commitment to becoming certified by May 1, 2025

  • First Aid & CPR certifications 

Preferred applicants should have:

  • Life-guarding and pool maintenance skills

  • 18 years or older preferred

Life Guards:

 

Qualified candidates must have:

  • Current lifeguard

  • First aid and CPR certifications required

  • 15 years old

Preferred applicants should have:

  • Water Safety Instructor (WSI) 

  • 15 years of age and up; 16 years or older preferred.

Swim Lesson Instructors:

 

Qualified candidates must have:

  • Water Safety Instructor(WSI) required. 

Preferred applicants:

  • 15 years old and up

  • ALL Lifeguards will teach swim lessons

Applications must be postmarked by March 10th, 2025. Pool will offer two sessions of swim lessons during summer.  Hourly rate is based on experience. You will be permitted to offer private lessons as well.

Swim Team Head Coach:

Position leads practices, motivating swimmers, and instructing swimmers in game strategies and techniques.

Essential Duties:

  • Instructs athletes in the rules, regulations, equipment, and techniques of the sport.

  • Organizes and directs individual and small group practice activities/exercises.

  • Assesses swimmer’s skills, monitors students during competition and practice, and keeps the head coach informed of the athletic performance of students.

  • Supervises athletes during practices and competition.

  • Follows established procedures in the event of an injury.

  • Models sports-like behavior and maintains appropriate conduct towards athletes, officials, and spectators.

  • Must possess the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with GVRC administrators, parents, and students.

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements

Must have the ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time; exhibit manual dexterity to dial a telephone, see and read a computer screen and printed material with or without vision aids; hear and understand speech at normal levels, outdoors and on the telephone; speak in audible tones so that others may understand clearly; physical agility to lift up to 25 pounds to shoulder height and 50 pounds to waist height; and to bend, to stoop, to sit on the floor, to climb stairs, to walk and to reach overhead. Hourly pay based on experience.

Swim Team Assistant Coach:

  • Performs any other related duties as assigned by the Head Swimming Coach, or other appropriate administrator.
